TEAMGROUP has officially launched its first DDR5 memory kit, the ELITE DDR5 U-DIMM series. The 32GB kit will support the next-generation DRAM platforms offering increased capacities and transfer speed of 4800MHz which is 50% more than the 3200MHz standard frequency maximum of DDR4 modules.

According to the official product page of the TEAMGROUP, ELITE U-DIMM DDR5 RAM will be a 16 GB capacity per module and can be expanded to 128GB capacity. It has an ultra-high frequency of whooping 4800MHz i.e, 50% more from the 3200MHz standard frequency maximum of DDR4 modules. Also, the DDR5 ram allows up to 32 banks (storage units that can be enabled/disabled separately) comprised of 8 bank groups. It’s double, the access available from the 16 banks available in standards DDR4. And one of the amazing things about the DDR5 memory module is that it will operate at an ultra-low voltage of 1.1V. The next-generation memory modules will also support on-die ECCs, a feature that self-corrects DRAM cells, to deliver stability to DRAM systems using DDR5. Also supports PMIC (Power Management IC) to increase its efficiency.
For now, there is no consumer motherboard available in the market that supports DDR5 RAM. The first supported motherboard will be the Intel 600 series motherboards which will reportedly release this Fall.
TEAMGROUP’s ELITE U-DIMM DDR5 RAM will be available globally at the end of June with the initial product launch at Amazon US, Newegg, Amazon Japan, and various major EC platforms in Europe at $399.99 US for 32 GB kit.
